Translation of all this:
TiDi really does help large fleet battles which I would hoped it would. The old way was a big big problem...
BUT
Everyone else playing who is inconvienced... Tough, suck it up or quit...your game time isn't valued by many in the EVE community...

Maybe in future we need gank squads to go to systems that are TiDied and kill people there.
No, don't wanna see that going backwards, I agree it really was bad...
All I'm saying is that some can play while others cannot under these circumstances. And it obviously doesn't matter to some.

I don't know what the actual hardware is that is running EVE.
I do have over 30 years experience of working with large IBM Mainframes. I have seen boxes running the current flavor of MVS, OS/390, z/OS, etc, service 30K users from Alaska to Florida giving each use sub second response time for everyone. With the current offerings of Mainframes which are really Enterprise Servers, I wonder if such an animal could do the job for EVE. On an ES you can run MVS, AIX, Windows, any OS out there and the current Storage Platforms out there in an Mainframe/Distributed System Data Center are very powerful.
Anyone else out there familiar with what I am talking about? |
